Zakat on wealth is...

• Obligatory
• One of the five pillars of Islam
• A form of giving to those who are less fortunate

Allah SWT has made it compulsory on every Muslim to give 2.5% of their wealth and assets each year which will then be distributed among the 8 Asnafs (categories) as prescribed in the Quran.

We know that one of the basic Islamic principles is concern for the poor. With Zakat, we hope it will help strengthen our spirit and confidence in coping with the challenges in our daily lives. We would like to urge our fellow Muslims to do their duty by paying Zakat on wealth when the Haul and Nisab are due. Insya'Allah, with our Zakat contribution it will help our fellow Muslins towards prosperity and security.

Rasulullah s.a.w. has said that a perfect Muslim is not the one who eats and leaves his neighbour hungry.
